07 - Oceanside7 Cottage By The Sea at Alder Bay

The Oceanside Cottage is an amazing Van Isle hidden gem, especially in the offseason where we basically had the place and beach to ourselves. Coming from the busier Victoria, this was an absolutely tranquil stay. We saw whales, sea lions, seals, otters, and one we are still unsure of with a black dorsal fin. The cottage had perfect ocean views from the deck, more than enough space for us with a full kitchen and everything you need, and was SPOTLESS! Like staying in a brand new cottage on the ocean. #7 is an ideal spot, path next to you so only one close neighbouring cottage, and closest to the walking path right down to the beach!

We had a fantastic stay at Alder Bay Resort. The cabin was perfect for our needs. The four of us had plenty of room and enjoyed many meals in the well equipped kitchen. I love that the bbq was clean and ready to go on the deck. The outside seating area was our favourite place to be. Each afternoon and evening we sat and watched the whales go by and heard the loud noises of blowholes! It was music to our ears. This is a magical place and a must see destination!
