04 - Eagle's Nest Cottage By The Sea at Alder Bay

Eagle's Nest cottage is one of the most relaxing places we've stayed in, and we've stayed in many cottages. Situated right above the ocean and located beside a grove of trees, you feel you're at home as soon as you walk onto the property. An added bonus is the gazebo, where you can perch in very comfortable furniture and enjoy nature all around you. There's even a fire pit, complete with enough wood to enjoy a couple of cozy fires in the evening. The cottage is small, but has everything you need, and is very comfortable and bright, with many windows to enjoy the views. There's a covered porch with 2 very comfy chairs overlooking the water. The quietness is wonderful - only the sounds of some birds and eagles. Orcas and other whales inhabit the waters here, and apparently a small pod of Orcas was seen when we were there in late February. We only stayed 3 nights this time, but will be going back in the summer for a longer stay, when we hope to see many more whales. We love looking across to Cormorant and Malcolm Islands. The cruise ships will be coming past when we return. We can't wait to come back to this very special cottage.

Amazing view from the cottage, very clean, a very quiet and clean camping site and great opportunities for wildlife tours like Vancouver Island Photo Tours or others. Highly recommended
